Condo photos

Well, we closed on the condo four weeks ago. Since then we have thoroughly cleaned, completely re-painted, had new carpet installed, and have mostly furnished and equipped the new condo! LOTS of shopping, shopping, shopping.....as we were starting from scratch and had to buy everything you need for a house or condo. We had forgotten what all was needed including dishes, glassware, flatware and all the kitchen utensils, linens, towels, vacuum cleaner, small appliances, cleaning equipment and supplies, etc., etc., etc., in addition to the furniture and decor. Obviously, I had underestimated the total cost of the project since it came in at about twice what I had guessed! Oh, well, no matter, the condo is now beautiful, well equipped and furnished, and will be our "old age home".  Linda had WAY TOO MUCH FUN shopping for everything and decorating the condo.  The "nesting instinct" in women is an awesome and frightening thing to observe!! GRIN

We have been using the condo like a marina and haven't slept there yet. One evening we had to stay until 10 PM waiting for a delivery of some furniture before returning to the boat. Enchantress was not speaking to us when we returned so late! We stayed on Enchantress through Tropical Storm Isaac since we care more about protecting the boat than the condo. I had bought and put down a "big honking anchor" with heavy chain in addition to our main anchor as a more or less permanent mooring. The storm went further out to sea than originally predicted and didn't become a hurricane until past us so we had 30 to 40 mph winds with gusts to 50 mph so we had no problems.  This is the most protected anchorage we can find which is why we picked it.  We had closed the hurricane shutters on the condo and left it to fend for its self.

OK, here are some photos of the condo with the furnishings and decor we have done so far. Obviously, it is a tropical/nautical decorating theme. GRIN

The master bedroom is the only room we haven't furnished yet since Linda has a bedroom set up in Jacksonville that some friends have had in their investment condo for all these years. We have to arrange to have a mover bring it down. So here is the master bedroom with the new mattress and box springs on the floor and some lawn furniture so we can sit down. The master bedroom is good sized at about 13 by 18 feet so her furniture will fit well as it has a poster bed, triple dresser, etc.

Linda pointed out to me that I didn't take any photos of the kitchen or bathrooms so you will have to wait to see those and the furnished master bedroom when you come to visit us sometime!

That should do it for now. We are happy with the condo and to have the major work and furnishing done and getting back to our normal routine. I, of course, am OK with not having to go shopping everyday!
